DOUGLAS ROCHE
WESTERN CATHOLIC REPORTER

The close of the Western Catholic Reporter fills my heart with sorrow. The paper means a lot to me, but my feelings reach beyond personal considerations.

Time, as is often said, marches on. And with different eras come different sets of practicalities and different visions.

A vigorous Catholic journalism always faithful to the Gospel and illuminating the outreach of the Church remains a challenging goal in any age.

As we go forward in implementing the values underlined by the Second Vatican Council, my hope is that open communication will continue to strengthen the people of God in the Archdiocese of Edmonton.
