Remembrance Day at St. James
On Tuesday, Nov. 10, St James School community in Edmonton celebrated the sacrifice of all soldiers who gave their lives during the conflicts of the past century that have secured the peace that we enjoy today. Our honorary veteran Miles Daigneault is a representative of the Métis nation who served for Canada in the Second World War, Korea and on peace missions in Cyprus and Vietnam. Our children, staff and parents at St. James gave him a hero's welcome. Along with our celebration we had our Peace Corner in our library officially opened by Ted Griffiths from Edmonton Rotary Strathcona. This Rotary club is sponsoring the peace section in the library by a generous donation that is used to purchase books on peace.
