Palestinian boys dig a hole for an olive tree sapling in a recently de-mined area in Husan, near Bethlehem, in the West Bank, Nov. 1.
The area was cleared of land mines from the 1967 Arab-Israeli War by Roots of Peace: Mines to Vines, a project founded by Catholic Heidi Kuhn to clear land mines and plant the grounds with indigenous, sustainable plants and trees.
