EDMONTON – For 60 years, the Canadian Theological Students Association has been drawing together those studying in preparation for ministry in a cross-section of Canadian churches.
The association's sole activity, said Carmen Ramirez of Waterloo, Ont., is to hold a national conference of theology students.
As chairperson of the planning committee, Ramirez, a member of the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada, helped put together this year's conference May 4-5 at St. Joseph's College of the University of Alberta that drew about 30 people.
The conference typically includes students from United, Anglican, Roman Catholic, Presbyterian, Lutheran, Mennonite and Pentecostal churches, she said.
Once this year's event wraps up, the outgoing organizing committee simply "passes the baton" to another group that will organize next year's conference.
