Why is St. Barnabas rarely mentioned?

In reading Church history, I found that Barnabas was the only educated disciple among the early followers of Jesus. Barnabas was well-versed in Hebrew and Aramaic, the languages in which Jesus preached. I find it surprising that little is mentioned of his own account of Jesus' preaching.

Do we really believe saints pray for us?

Catholics keep asking so many saints to pray for us. We rely for help on their constant intercession. Do we really believe the saints are constantly praying for us? Isn't there something more exciting to do in heaven than this constant chatter of the saints? Not even Jesus prayed constantly.

Why did Jesus not tell his parents he was in the Temple?

It is common for teens to be so immersed in what they are doing that they forget to come for supper or home in the evening causing parents to worry. We must remember that Jesus was fully human. Perhaps, Jesus was so absorbed that he forgot the time.

Some non-Catholic parents of our Confirmation preparation class who attended the lessons were touched by the grace and healing of the sacrament. I suspect they too want to experience the peace of forgiveness in their hearts. I would love to hear your response to their question: Can a non-Catholic go to Confession?

Can Christians be saved without the Church?

Because of the scandals in various churches, especially in authority, many Christians, Catholic and Protestant, believe they can approach God in a private manner without the Church. I believe this is not a healthy attitude as the Church is the body of Christ.

Can these people obtain salvation if they are serious in their relationship with God?
