VATICAN CITY — Pope Benedict named 53-year-old Bishop Gerald Cyprien Lacroix as the new archbishop of Quebec.
Lacroix, a member of the Quebec-based Pius X Secular Institute, had been an auxiliary bishop in Quebec since 2009. As archbishop, he succeeds Cardinal Marc Ouellet, who became prefect of the Vatican’s Congregation for Bishops in July. more . . .
